Hi there! My name is Raquel.
This project began after I decided to revive a technique I was taught when I was around my daughter's age.
I would come to my aunt Filomena's home after school and she would patiently teach me how to crochet. She was a great crocheter and a wonderful teacher. She has departed many, many years ago, but I still miss her dearly. I keep her photo close to the one of her sister-in-law, my maternal grandmother, to remind me of those great women in my life that nurtured and taught me these crafts (crochet, embroidery).
I squandered these talents for decades, but ultimately they seem to have found their way back at a time in my life when I am in need of a different outlet to my creative self. I am a professional, classicaly trained singer working in an Opera House, ever surrounded by extraordinary costumes and accessories made by the Wardrobe Department specialists. Things of beauty are a constant source of inspiration to lavish upon. Transforming crochet in beauty accessories developed quite naturally. Enjoy my journey!
